Extended Day Care (EDC) is offered to enrolled SMS students on regularly-scheduled, full school days for the benefit of working parents. We provide a safe, nurturing environment and a staff that is dedicated to providing the best care for your children. We are accredited with a Letter of Compliance from the State of Maryland Office of Child Care.
Hours of Operation:
Preschool 3 & 4 7:45 AM to 6:00 PM
Kindergarten to grade 5 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Grade 6 to 8 2:35 PM Dismissal until 6 PM
Extended Care also is available on most early-dismissal school days and on most teacher professional days that are scheduled when school is closed for students. Parents of students enrolled in the EDC Program will be notified when advance sign-up for these additional days is necessary and/or available.
Re-registration of current families enrolled in EDC takes place each year in early April. Open registration for new families occurs the end of April. Applications are available in the Main Office of each campus. . There is a $25 non-refundable application fee. Parents are urged to register early as there are limited openings.

We will now be offering DROP IN slots for those busy parents who do not need our program on a regular basis. Our DROP IN rates are below…

Dismissal – 4:00pm $10.50
Dismissal – 6:00pm $20.00
DROP INS will be taken on a 48 hour advance request
DROP INS will be required to register for EDC with the same $25 deposit required for our current families. All paperwork is available on the Saint Margaret School Website under Extended Day Care.
Finally, we are always open to donations of craft items. Here are just a few things we could use…
· Holiday books (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day just to name a few)
· Non-breakable nativity set (ie Little People)
· Craft supplies (colored paper, foam stickers, foam sheets)
· A few bean bag chairs or something similar for the children who are here in the morning to “rest” on after they’ve eaten lunch.
