Academic Enrichment



In order to provide opportunities for physical activity, encourage creativity, and build confidence and teamwork, St. Margaret School offers a variety of enrichment activities during and after-school at different grade levels throughout the school year.

Academic Enrichment Programs

Students at the elementary school can participate in the following academic enrichment programs: the announcement team, art helpers, library helpers, and robotics. Students in the middle school can participate in the following academic enrichment programs: the announcement team, creative arts club, LEGO robotics club, producers club, recycling club, and the school newspaper. 

Spiritual Growth Programs

Students at the elementary school can participate in the following spiritual growth programs: altar servers and soul striders. Middle School students can participate in the following spiritual growth programs: altar servers, mission helpers, rosary club, sacristans, and soul striders. The entire school participates in week liturgies, grade-level retreats, NET retreats, and pilgrimage experiences throughout the school year. 

Service Outreach Programs 

Students at the elementary school can participate in the following service outreach programs: art helpers, gym helpers, hot lunch club, and library helpers. Middle School students can participate in the following service outreach programs: homework helpers and mission helpers. 

In addition to these programs, seventh-grade students participate in a STEM Fair in the Spring of each year. Students also participate as members of various academic challenge teams at Catholic High Schools, such as Calvert Hall High School Olympics, Catholic High Math Olympics, and the NDP Egg Drop Contest. 

Students at the elementary school have opportunities as admission assistants, altar servers, announcement teams, art helpers, chorus, flag/playground teams, gym helpers, hot lunch clubs, library helpers, photography clubs, Robotics (FLL), safety teams, and soul striders.  Students participate in weekly liturgies, class masses, and prayer services throughout the school year. The selected members of the student leadership team plan activities at the middle school level and, in some cases, school-wide.  Participation in sports teams sponsored by Saint Margaret School is basketball, lacrosse, soccer, and cross country for both boys and girls.  The SMS award-winning cheerleading team has competed nationally.
